Are you being ‘recognised’ for your support?
Reservists and employers across the South West continue to support the Armed Forces in Afghanistan, Iraq, Balkans, Cyprus and in various global counter terror operations. However, support isn’t just limited to overseas war-fighting and peace-keeping operations. It also extends to support the ‘blue-light’ services in times of crisis – whether flooding or snow.
This support is vital to the success of operations and the part played by supportive employers is recognised by all sectors of the military, the MOD, and the Government.
At a local level, recognition can take the form of invitations to events such as visits to military establishments, lunches with the county based Lord Lieutenants or with Senior Officers from each of the services. We may also be able to award you with a framed certificate signed by the Secretary of State for Defence and the Chief of the Defence Staff. This can be used to demonstrate your support to employees, customers and suppliers as well as any of your employees who are or would like to be members of the Volunteer Reserve Forces.

Where could you meet up with the military in 2010?
We are currently preparing our programme for the remainder of the year. This will include visits to the Search & Rescue air station, RNAS Culdrose, the tanks and armoured vehicles at The Armour Core in Dorset, the Hercules aircraft of the RAF in Wiltshire, and the Royal Navy in Devon.
