RFCA Wales & SaBRE Wales briefing to Local Authorities

RFCA Wales and SaBRE Wales have been conducting joint presentations to local authorities across Wales.

The presentations, which in the main have been to ‘full council’, have been extremely well received. More are planned throughout 2010.

National Armed Forces Day

This is the day Wales has the opportunity to recognise the contribution of those individuals, both Regular and Reservists, that serve and have served in the UK’s Armed Forces. National AFD will be hosted by Cardiff County Council on 26th June 2010.

The day should be a fantastic occasion. It begins with a march through Cardiff city centre, immediately followed by a Drumhead Service in Cardiff Bay.

Displays from all three Services will be open to the public throughout the day and there is a full schedule of special events planned to add even more entertainment value to the occasion. It promises to be a day to remember!

203 (Welsh) Field Hospital – Honoured with the Freedom of The Vale of Glamorgan

On Saturday the 17th April 2010 203 (Welsh) Field Hospital received the Freedom of The Vale of Glamorgan at a ceremony conducted at King Square, Holton Road, Barry.

203 (Welsh) Field Hospital has served alongside the UK’s Armed Forces conducting military operations across the world since 1914 and most recently in Afghanistan in 2008. This, together with the previous Freedom honour bestowed upon it by Llandudno, recognises the contribution made by the people within the health services here in Wales.
